Q&A Future Certifications vs. HIM Degree

Hello,

I am thinking ahead after I get my CPC certification. Would it be better to go back to school to get the HIM degree or would it be better to keep getting additional certifications such as CPC-H, CCS, CPMA etc. ? I not sure which way I would want to go.

HIM degrees are good if you want to work in an inpatient hospital setting. The other ones you mentioned are good for the outpatient hosital, physician office, billing office, consulting type jobs.
